Patrija Department Store

Location: Prijedor, Bosnia & Herzegovina

Completed: 1979

Architect: Not known

Genre: Modernist, Socialist architecture, former Yugoslavia

Located in the centre of Prijedor, the modernist-style department store fell into decline at some point after the breakup of Yugoslavia during the early 1990s. Thereafter, it remained vacant/abandoned due to disputes over the ownership of the property. The wrangle over the freehold was resolved in 2018 and the building sold to a new owner. The structure has since been demolished and is in the process of being redeveloped into a brand new, glass-fronted shopping centre.
