Depicting resistance fighters marching into battle, the monument commemorates both Yugoslav and Italian partisans who fought against fascism during the National Liberation War (World War II). The sculptor, Valerio Miroglio, was Italian and this is the only monument in Yugoslavia to be created by a foreign artist. More information about the “Partisans” Monument.
