The monument commemorates partisans who lost their lives fighting in Bulgarian campaigns during World War II. It is located in Borisova Garden (Freedom Park during the country’s socialist period (1944-1989)), close to the mortal remains of seventeen notable resistance fighters and members of the Bulgarian Communist Party who were buried there in 1944.
