Franc Rozman Stane was a Slovenian Partisan commander who was proclaimed a People’s Hero of Yugoslavia shortly after his death on 7th November 1944. He rose to the rank of lieutenant general in the Slovene partisan army and died as a consequence of a serious wound he received while testing a newly arrived PIAT anti-tank weapon sent by the British.
