Tsvyatko Radoynov, who was born in Krân in 1895, was a political and military figure in the Bulgarian Communist Party who participated in the 1923 September Uprising. After the rebellion failed, he fled to the Soviet Union and reached the rank of colonel in the Red Army. During World War II, he returned to Bulgaria illegally to support the communist resistance, where he was informed upon, captured, put on trial and ultimately executed by firing squad in 1942.
