Me, Mark and the Ant Man

This one’s for my Mum and Dad really but for everyone else a bit of background …  Once upon a time many, MANY years ago my Dad went to college to study to become an architect. One of his groovy jazz crowd friends became a good friend and was eventually Dad’s best man. When we were growing up we knew him as “Ant Man” although now he has reverted to Tony Mann.  To cut a long story short, Tony arrived in Kathmandu to do some work last week and before we had a chance to make contact, Mark and I bumped into him in one of the local watering holes.  Having not seen him for around 15 years I wanted sure if I was walking up to the right guy or not but figured if I made a fool of myself I wouldn’t see the “wrong” person again.  I was right and as a result of Tony not being completely happy with his current accommodation option I suggested he come and look at our apartments.  He did, and now we are next door neighbours!  So this snap is the three of us enjoying an Indian meal at one of Mark and my favourite restaurants in Thamel, the Third Eye.
