Today’s photo of the day comes from Armenia. There are some excellent day trips out of the capital, Yerevan, including one to the stunning Geghard Monastery, 40km to the east. Even if you have had your fill of churches and monasteries, we urge you to make the effort to see this one. There are a few churches within the monastery complex, including one that has been carved out of solid rock – check out the acoustics if you go there! A visit to Geghard Monastery is easily combined with the nearby Garni temple and is feasible on public transport.
