Initially, a more ideologically themed mosaic featuring Lenin, a Soviet worker and Red Army soldiers was proposed for the frontage of the House of Political Education, which would have been more in keeping with the building’s original function. In the end, however, Zurab Tsereteli’s far more abstract and playful design was chosen to adorn the structure’s 2 x 42-metre facade.
